And she has a plan, "The Lily Plan”. She will become a brain surgeon like her father. Her boyfriend KARIM will become a petroleum engineer. They’ll get married. Have kids. Live happily ever after. But the plan is thrown into confusion when KARIM becomes smitten by and runs off with RESHMA, the reining Miss India National beauty queen. Not happy about losing at anything, Lily decides that she herself must become the new Miss India National! But LILY will discover you’re not always a winner when you win, and there maybe more to learn when you lose. Director's Bio: Miss India America, is RAVI KAPOOR’S feature directing debut, which he co-wrote with his wife and frequent collaborator Meera Simhan. Ravi’s short films VICTOR RAMIREZ, ASESINO and THE 5 have played at many national and international film festivals winning a number of awards. He was series regular on ABC’s GIDEON’S CROSSING and then on NBC’s CROSSING JORDON, for which he also directed. Ravi was born and raised in Liverpool, England and studied at the East 15 Acting School in London. After graduating he first worked as an actor in England doing a mix of film, T.V and theater. All which took him as far a field as Tokyo and Delhi. He has written and directed a handful of plays, including OH SWEET SITA which was performed in both London and Toronto, and O!EDIPUS which had a well received run at the Hollywood Fringe Festival. |
