Boston Asian American Film Festival to Host Free Community Screening of "The Power of Two" and Special Guest Appearances
with Anabel Mariko Stenzel ("Ana") and Isabel Yuriko Stenzel Byrnes ("Isa").
Boston, MA, Tuesday, November 29, 2011 — The Boston Asian American Film Festival (BAAFF) will host a free community screening of "The Power of Two," a documentary about half-Japanese twins living with cystic fibrosis and beating the odds. The film is directed by Marc Smolowitz. The screening will take place Thursday, December 8, at 7 PM, at the Tufts University Arthur M. Sackler Center for Medical Education, 145 Harrison Avenue, in Chinatown. The cost is free but an RSVP is required for building access. Anabel and Isabel Stenzel, the subjects of the film, will be present for a question and answer session following the screening.
"We are thrilled to host Ana and Isa in Boston and to share their amazing emotional and heartening personal stories,” said Yvonne Ng, co-director of BAAFF. “The film provides a deep understanding of cystic fibrosis and brings to light the Japanese cultural issues involved in organ donation and transplantation that Americans may not need to face."
Ana and Isa will be available for interviews. Please contact Susan Chinsen, (617) 548-0623, schinsen@gmail.com, or Yvonne Ng, (617) 426-5313, writeyng@gmail.com for more information.
